Bessie V. (White) Dlugosz

GROVELAND: Bessie V. (White) Dlugosz, 80, died October 19th at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. Mrs. Dlugosz was the wife of the late Albert A. Dlugosz.

Born in Haverhill August 27, 1927, Mrs. Dlugosz was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva A. (Watts) White.

Mrs. Dlugosz graduated from Groveland High School class of 1944. Her work career began as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, and she later worked ten years as a teacher’s aid at Pentucket Regional High School. She was a member of the Groveland Church where she taught Sunday School, and received awards for her work at the Mental Health Alliance of Merrimack Valley. She enjoyed baking, whist parties with friends, her flower and vegetable gardens, and her neighborhood friends will remember her detailed attention to
decorating her home for the holidays. For years she and her family enjoyed the summers at Captain’s Pond where her family owned a camp.

Mrs. Dlugosz is survived by her son Mark Dlugosz of Groveland; daughter Dawn Saulnier and her husband James of Atkinson; grandchildren Aaron Saulnier of Atkinson and Tara Saulnier of Haverhill; brothers Gerald White and his wife May, Lester White and his wife Dorothy, both of Groveland, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Scott Dlugosz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King Street, Groveland, MA 01834.
