Michael Benjamin Canyes

Michael Benjamin Canyes, 63, died Friday at Merrimack Valley Hospital.

Born in Washington, DC on July 1, 1943, Michael was the son of the late Manuel and Patricia Canyes.

Michael received a degree from the University of Maryland in 1977. He spent over twenty years in the computer industry as a programmer and consultant. The last ten years Michael turned his favorite hobby of photography into a well-respected, and very creative, commercial business. He lost a long battle with respiratory illness and will be missed very much by family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wife Barbara, of 33 years, his daughter Molly of Haverhill, his son Edward and his wife
Charlene and four grandchildren of Coconut Creek, FL, and cousins in Great Britain and Washington State.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service on Sunday May 27th at 11:30 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. A private interment at Elmwood Cemetery will follow the service. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:30 to 11:30. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations are made on behalf of Michael to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
