Mildred (Etter) (LeSuer) (Wade) Walker
HAVERHILL: Mildred (Etter) (LeSuer) (Wade) Walker, 79, died July 25th
in Westmoreland, NH. Mrs. Walker was the wife of the late Roland Wade
and Dale Walker.
Born in Somerville October 31, 1927, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the
late Walter B. and Hazel I. (Snow) Etter. Mrs. Walker was raised in Groveland
and graduated from Groveland High School. For twenty-five years Mildred
had worked for various manufacturers in Haverhill’s shoe industries
including LeSande Shoe where she was in charge of the tag department.
After her marriage to Mr. Walker she moved to Billings, MT where she lived
for 15 years before moving to Keene, NH. She was Past Grand Royal Matron
for the Commonwealth of Mass. of the Order of Amaranth and a Past Royal
Matron of Warren G. Harding Court, member of Fidelity
Chapter #90, O.E.S., Past Worthy High Priestess of Haverhill Shrine #1,
Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Princess of the Daughters of the
Nile. Mildred enjoyed all handcrafts; she had a special talent for flower
arranging, loved to make ceramic gifts for family and friends, and was
an avid antique shopper. Mildred’s animals always held a special
place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughter Lyn Sweetser-Somma and her husband Anthony
of Haverhill; brothers James Etter and his wife Betty of Springfield,
Robert Etter and his wife Sara of Lehigh Acres, FL, Kenneth Etter of Atkinson,
NH, Richard Etter and his wife Margaret Ann of Sandy, UT; sisters Jean
“Honey” Etter of Westmoreland, NH, Carole Cocozza and her
husband Marco of Naples, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday at
Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling
hours will precede the service from 9-11.The interment at Elmwood Cemetery
