M. (Torrey) Prime
HAVERHILL:
Mildred M. (Torrey) Prime, 93, died
Monday morning at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Prime was the wife of
the late Charles Prime.
Born in Haverhill on October 23, 1915, Mrs. Prime was the daughter of
the late Chester M. and Marie R. (Doucette) Torrey.
Educated in Haverhill she was a graduate of Haverhill High School. Mrs.
Prime retired from Destiny Publishing in 2007 following 50 years of
employment. She was a member of the Protestant Guild for the
Blind, and had been Superintendent of Sunday School at Immanuel Baptist
Church for many years. Until very recently she concluded many years
crocheting baby blankets for the nursery at Anna Jaques Hospital in
Newburyport.
Mrs. Prime is survived by her daughter Shirley Cossar and her husband
Larry of East Kingston, NH; grandchildren, Laurie Gerschwiler and her
husband David of Strafford, NH, Amy Higgins and her husband Peter of
Plaistow, NH; three great grandchildren; sisters, Marion Carroll and
Shirley Campbell, both of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Jan M. Pennisi, and sister of the late
James Torrey.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Dole,
Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
Interment at Walnut Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral
from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
